DBA Candidate ' MEd ' BPS ' CRP ' CPFAcct

Hello, I am Rosalie S.Y. Law, a Senior Member of the Hong Kong Security Professionals Association with over 27 years of distinguished service in the Hong Kong Police Force. My professional expertise lies in criminal investigation, crisis management, and security research. I am currently pursuing a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) degree, and I hold a Master of Education, a Bachelor of Professional Security, together with several advanced diplomas in corporate governance, cybersecurity, and information security management.

I have been recognized with government commendations and professional awards from institutions such as the Hong Kong Management Association and The Hong Kong Institute of Directors. I also hold several professional designations, including Certified Risk Planner (CRP), Certified Security Management Professional, and Certified Professional Forensic Accountant (CPFAcct). I am an active member of various professional bodies, including the Asian Professional Security Association (Hong Kong Chapter), the International Professional Security Association (Hong Kong), and the Hong Kong Independent Non-Executive Directors Association.

In 2014, I co-founded the Hong Kong Security Professionals Association with a group of local industry practitioners. Since then, I have served as Executive Committee Member across its first four terms and as Honorary President in its sixth term, a position I continue to hold. I had earlier served as Deputy Secretary-General of the Asian Professional Security Association (Hong Kong Chapter) in 2013 and was appointed as a member of the Security Services Industry Training Advisory Committee (2013-2021) and the Television and Radio Consultative Group of the Office of the Communications Authority (2014-2021).

I am committed to integrating hands-on experience with academic research to advance the professionalization and modernization of Hong Kong's private security industry, enhancing overall safety standards and service quality across the sector.

Career Aspiration

My career goal is to serve in corporate governance and board roles, particularly as an Independent Non-Executive Director (INED). I aspire to apply my extensive experience in risk management, compliance oversight, crisis handling, and professional ethics to support sound corporate governance and long-term business sustainability.

Drawing from my policing background, I possess strong competencies in risk assessment, compliance management, and stakeholder engagement. My continuing education in corporate governance, directorship, risk management, business fraud, and forensic accounting has strengthened my analytical and decision-making abilities. As a long-serving member of various professional associations and advisory committees, I am well-versed in board operations, cross-sector collaboration, and public policy perspectives. While I have not yet served formally as a board director, I bring a strong sense of responsibility, independent judgment, and a proactive learning attitude. I look forward to contributing my expertise as an INED while gaining broader insights into corporate governance under the mentorship of experienced board members.
